NRG Dynamix designed a variable displacement gear pump (VDGP) and motor with many applications. Simplicity of design makes it easier and less costly to manufacture and repair than vane and piston-type pumps. The relatively small size and light weight makes this pump easier to install in confined areas.

For hydraulic hybrid vehicle use, the instant response of VDGP eliminates lag time and the feeling of the powertrain gradually winding-up, a phenomenon that is common in other pumps.
